New York City, NY | Un’immersione nella storia: abiti che sono racconti di epoche e tempi remoti. La mostra di quest’anno del Costume Institute, nella suggestiva cornice del Metropolitan Museum of Art di New York, ha celebrato la moda americana, sfaccettata e diversificata come gli Stati Uniti e le molteplici culture che ne fanno parte.
L’esposizione “In America” è un’indagine del significato profondo dell’American fashion: frazionata in due parti, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion” e “In America: An Anthology of Fashion”, è stata inaugurata il 18 settembre 2021 ed è rimasta aperta fino al 5 settembre 2022. La prima parte della mostra, inaugurata a settembre 2021, ha celebrato il 75esimo anniversario del Costume Institute e stabilito un moderno vocabolario della moda americana curato da Andrew Bolton, Wendy Yu Curator in Charge del Costume Institute, all’interno dell’Anna Wintour Costume Center.
